Als iets je niet onberoerd laat, als het je raakt, dan gaat het je niet in de koude kleren zitten. Maar hoe vertaal je dat? *It doesn’t go sit you in the cold clothes* is niet juist, maar dat had je zelf al bedacht. Hoe zeg je het dan wel in het Engels?
Er is geen directe vertaling, maar wel een boel opties om uit te kiezen. Ik heb ze hieronder op een rijtje gezet.

De koude kleren, daarmee wordt de bovenste laag kleding bedoeld. Niet die die warm tegen je huid aanzitten, maar daarboven. Dringt iets die bovenlaag door, dan gaat het in die warme binnenlaag zitten; dan raakt het je. (Met dank aan Onze Taal)
