“Klein maar fijn” betekent dat iets of iemand, ondanks het kleine formaat, toch mooi/goed/lekker enz. is. Het is een standaarduitdrukking geworden omdat het zo leuk rijmt. Er bestaat in het Engels een vergelijkbare uitdrukking: “great things come in small packages“, maar die wordt minder vaak gebruikt en vaak ook net op een andere manier.
